Hello my name is Alexej and I freelance as a Software Engineer (Web and Mobile) in Vienna, Austria.

I am primarily interested in modern web and mobile technologies. My technology stack of choice is:

• React (Web)
• React Native (Mobile)
• node.js (Backend)
• TypeScript

Recently I have been working a lot with Micro Frontends and I got the opportunity to develop one with Angular, TypeScript and node.js (+ Gitlab CI/CD and deployment to Azure Cloud).

Currently I am working with React Native and React and I am not planning on changing that soon ;-)

In my 10+ years of professional experience I've mostly worked for bigger companies in the financial industry. I started as a Java Developer (classic), then switched to Web Development with some Mobile Development (Android) in between and later on evolved into a Tech Lead/Architect and Scrum Master (primarily to shape my team). During my master's studies, at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), I've mainly worked in a research environment and spent half a year abroad at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Tokyo, Japan where I was part of Sensei Takeda's Research Group. During that time I experimented with Linked Open Data (LOD), especially with BabelNet which then laid the ground work for my master thesis. Also, I have created a very nice E2E-Testing framework for the web.

Thinking back I would probably describe myself as a jack of all trades who can not only deliver working software, create software architectures and frameworks, but also lead teams and coach individuals. I am very thankful for all the opportunities I have received and for meeting many great people along the way.
